The Deuterocanon refers to texts in Christianity's Old Testament that are not in the תנ"ך‎ Tanakh.

Deuterocanonical texts are in contradistinction to Masoretic texts, which are those found in the תנ"ך‎ Tanakh. Though not considered canonical to Judaism, the deuterocanon still provides a wealth of knowledge; it is in these texts, preserved by Christians, that we find much of Jewish history and even the Chanukah story.
