The studio and solarium constitute the later addition to the Mansion.

Solarium

Many varieties of orchids and ferns were displayed in the conservatory.

Water trenches and steam heat provided a hot-house environment (in addition to the two separate greenhouses elsewhere on the property). The radiators are connected to a boiler room in the basement. For parties, the stairwell opening was oft covered with a board and used as a buffet table. During the Consular Period it was used as the Finnish Exhibit Room and called the Suomi Solarium (Finnish Solarium).

Studio

The studio provided Mrs. Fenyes room to show her collections and paint her own works. In this room she also held at-homes or salons for friends.

Classes in Spanish and Italian were also held here. The minstrels' gallery was used for choral groups and plays. The spiral stairway could be used by performers entering the stage. The draperies are cotton-lined. There is a trap door. Wall panels are walnut. Floor is oak. The north windows contain stained glass pieces that were hung during the 1960's by the Paloheimos.

Eva's studio1916Richard Miller arrived. He used the garden studio and Mrs. Fenyes moved all her paints to the studio. John Rich also used Mrs. Fenyes' garden studio, likely painting the family portraits there between 1906 and 1911.
Consular eraThe studio was used for concerts to introduce Finnish musicians, and for receptions where Consul Paloheimo presented awards and decorations for work in Finnish-American relations.
